sort of anyway!!!I saw this little gem whilst out and about last week and how cute is it?And so small,it was surprisingly comfortable though, better than some of the vehicles we have at work.I can remember police cars with a similar livery from when I was a kid-we nicknamed them jam sandwiches, goodness knows why though??I can vividly recall being about 6 or 7 and having just learnt to give the V sign,I did it to a police car that went past me and my friends and then was terrified incase they came back and told me off! They didn't luckily!
New pic added for TFGPB-this was New St Birmingham!

that's awesome! they need to make cars like that more
lol I cannot imagine them being vey fast in a chase!
Classic xx
LOL that is so funny, 6-7 year olds are funny. The car is adorable and so dinky.
Btw my scarf is from last year!
Looks like right out of a Mentos commercial.
I learnt to drive in a Morris Minor and I have to say I wish I still had one too.
Here comes the 'well actually' bit (you can add your own nerd voice):
It wasn't called a jam sandwich though, that thing was an original Panda because of the different colour doors. The jam sandwich came about when the Met started using white cars instead of blue and stuck a red and orange stripe down the side.
I take it that they don't still store the old cars in the car park beneath TDP any more?
Nerd bit over, nice site and great fun. Good luck and keep it going.
TFGPB-ah!!!!so I havent just made up 'jam sandwich' then??I think you're right,I remember police cars being Austin Allegros, and it would have West Mids police-I don't know about TDP,not my force (yet!).
(see the new photo I have added)
How sweet of you, thank you for the picture of the All-Aggro, it's a pity you can't see if the steering wheel is one of those insane square ones, ahh progress.
My apologies for the misunderstanding, I've been following you for a while and somehow got the impression you were Met and looking to move Boroughs or postings.
Best of luck with the transfer,
George Saint
a square steering wheel? The mind boggles!!!
Oh yes, square ... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/19/Austin_Allegro_Interior_with_Quartic_steering_wheel.jpg
... and consider yourself verbally warned for showing two fingers toward the Bill, can't have reprobates like yourself running around the streets unchecked.
that is so cool!!!I love it!TFGBP,I was scared to death after doing it and have been a good girl ever since *polishes halo*
ha! I remember just learning to flick Vs and deciding to stand outside school and do it to passing cars. Charming child, I was.
the design is so different than current cars. but it wasn't so far ago... everything changes so quickly.
