Lilash update

Well I never did the weekly update, but after a few weeks of usage I have results!!! My lashes are definitley longer, and for someone who never notices results on myself, I have with my lashes. My brows are darker for some reason and they have grown a bit more in the spaces I had before, but I'm not bushy browed just yet. I could have made more of an effort with the photos because I have make up in some and I'm bare faced in the starting ones but I think you will get the drift!!

I have never noticed until I took these photos that I do have tiny hairs growing underneath my brows, you cant see them IRL I don't think so I need to get them threaded. These were taken on 8/3/2011.

my lashes are longer, its not all mascara!

brows slowly filling out

I have BrowZings on but I think you can see the growth

IRL I think I look as though I have false lashes on!

at last!!!

I've not been around much to update as I've been snowed under at work, anyway its calmed down now so I have finally got round to doing a post! I went to have my tattoos lasered off today, I had the initial consultation and the lovely man who does it said they should react well, he did a test area and it bubbled up instantly which was a bit alarming but he said he was impressed that I didnt even flinch as someone he had treated recently had flinched so much they kicked him in the jaw and he dropped the laser which ended up spinning round the room!! haha, at least I didnt embarrass myself by doing that! I have wanted to get rid of the 2 tattoos I have for awhile now as one is just a very naff 90's one and the other is just a poor interpretation of what I actually wanted to have done even though I had it done at a very well respected tattoo parlour. I do want new tatts to go where the old ones were so I'll have to decide what I want and where to go to get them done.  This has taken me years to pull my finger out and actually get them lasered away though so I dont know how long it will take to decided on replacements!!

I am knackered+a pig!!

I have had my splint and special 'don't bend your foot' shoe off for a week now and my foot and scar seem to be healing nicely, but oh I am always knackered with the effort of walking!
I went to see the exhibtion stormtroopersinstilettos today at the Truman brewery in Brick Lane with my brother, I can't say I am a Queen fan but said I'd go with him as he doesn't live in London. And because it's free! It was quite good actually, even if you aren't an obsessive fan. After we went for a pizza, paid for by my brother so I suppose it's not a surprise that I have put on weight in the 2 weeks I've been back at work, especially as I had Mexican in the week for my friends birthday meal AND I was in Brick Lane last night too for a curry with my partner in crime fighting. I could cry at putting 1/2 a stone back on after all last years dieting but I'm not out and about as much as I would be normally at work until I can walk properly again.

yay!

I went to see my consultant today who has said I can now WEAR NORMAL SHOES AGAIN, can't wait!! I have put up with some stick at work from everyone taking the piss about me wearing 'the shoe' which is funny but its so embarrassing going out in public with odd shoes and not being able to walk properly. Anyway I can walk on my foot again and I can drive, yay! and I have a big screw in my foot-urgh!

I was so pleased that all was ok, the consultant asked me was it worth it? Yes at the moment, I think it was.*fingers crossed*

recent buys

I have ordered, and sent back, so much stuff since I've been stuck indoors, luckily most of it was free post and free returns so I've not paid out for postage. I cant hardly remember what I've posted and what I haven't so here it is!

La Redoute parka, this was a random find to fill the River Island parka shaped gap in my life! I love parkas and have a grey one from FCUK which I've gone off and 2 khaki parkas, both of which have seen better days and have now been relegated to plain clothes for work purposes! I thought this was a bit pricey when it arrived as it was £55, and I thought about returning it but then saw online that it was reduced so I rang them up and asked could I have it at the sale price (£33) and they said yes! Can't believe they did but that is a better price for it as its not that thick but seeing as we should be heading for spring soon enough I think it will be perfect.

ASOS-this cute top, I saw a girl wearing one like this in December OUT IN THE SNOW whilst I was working wrapped up in multiple fleeces and scarves, and I thought how pretty it was. I shall be wearing it in the summer though!
This ASOS skull upper arm bangle.

A vintage lace jacket, this is so much better on-the sleeves are really puffy and I love it!
Vintage look bag from ASOS, I seriously love ASOS at the moment, they used to be so crap too!
and this Topshop leopard cardigan that I had wanted when I saw it instore but didnt buy as I had spent a fortune at the time, then regretted but finally managed to track down on Ebay BNWT! It was meant to be mine!

Oh, and lastly (for now) a Topshop t-shirt with necklace attached, I cant find a photo though so I'll have to add it later. I saw this top on this brilliant blog  and then on Jenny whatserface from Snog Marry Avoid , I hasten to add she sthe presenter not one of the girls on it! Anyway after seeing it twice within 2 days I tracked it down and its lovely!

super-long eyelashes, here come!

I splashed out on a tube of LiLash yesterday after reading lots and lots of reviews online, and all of them good. I initially wanted LiBrow as my eyebrows are thin and sparse, not sure why they are so thin as I did pluck them when I was younger but they were never that thin, infact I had fairly big eyebrows when it was fashionable to have big brows! Anyway I was recommended to get the LiLash as you can use it on both brows and lashes and for a pricey (£88!)  beauty treatment I thought this would be the best option so I could play around with the results.

I've never done a beauty review before as I'm more of a clothes and shoes fan that make-up, but because its interesting to see how LiLash works (or doesn't!) then I thought I would document the results, especially on my eyebrows as I think thin brows are so ageing.

I got my LiLash from Powder Rooms
which is the only approved  U.K stockist so at least you know it's genuine and not out of date or anything, and check out the free sweeties!

Here are some horrific 'BEFORE' pics of my thin brows and eyelashes, my skin looks dreadful I think because I've been stuck indoors since my op but I hope I will be able to post some great results on a weekly basis.

Actually, I think my eyelashes look longer IRL than they do here, but you can see my eyebrows are way too thin. I have a fringe but normally fill in the gaps with eyebrow pencils and brow gel so I suppose its watch this space!

don't look if you're easily grossed out!!

but this is what my foot looks like after having the stitches out! In the photos it looks like a cadaver's foot but it is healing nicely.
I don't know if I actually said what I'd had done, it was a bunion op-very glam! It wasn't too bad compared to some I've seen (I should have taken a before pic) but it was causing me pain and I was finding it increasingly hard to find shoes that wouldn't rub against it, so when I found out I could get it done privately I limped at the chance (haha) as I am always on my feet in my job and I thought it would only get worse over time.
I just wish I had realised quite how long it would put me out of action, I can walk but have to wear a velcro shoe THING that I hate and I'm not allowed to bend my toe yet as it still hasn't set properly. I have only walked to my local shop at the end of my road so far and that wears me out because you end up holding your leg stiff and walking like a robot! Also I won't be able to wear 'fashion' shoes for months yet (so the hospital says) and no high heels for 6months! I never wear high heels unless it's car to bar but being told you can't wear them is making me want to so badly!

ETA: before photos.

not sure why I've got dirty feet here!

It's been very boring at home, in the week after the op I was nearly crying with boredom at being stuck indoors, I had read all my magazines, surfed the net like crazy, ordered loads of sale clothes - (now mostly returned except, bizarrely, shoes and boots) and watched all my dvd's and I had had enough! As my foot has got easier to stand on I've been having a good sort out, Ebaying stuff I don't want or need and I've started a free trial of Lovefilm.com to while away the boredom. Actually I am really impressed with Lovefilm, I think I will keep the subscription after the 14 days are up, I really like watching films on my laptop which is part of the free trial I have, ideal for if you can't sleep.
What else? I splashed out on a Dyson DC25 Animal vacuum for £230! I have never had a brand new vacuum before, I have always had hand-me-downs so this is heaven! I thought I would get one that Which (another free trial) recommended and I decided to pay more for a machine that was exactly what I needed as I have 2 lazy little cats who don't clean up after themselves, and I hope that this will help me keep my flat cleaner, with less effort from me. Its either that or employ a cleaning lady!
Here is my all singing all dancing new vacuum!*sad*

that's all! To quote Miranda Priestly!

update on sale buys

I think I have sent everything back that I ordered -some of it in a Tramadol haze, except the Pepe jeans and the Topshop Proto boots and I went ahead and ordered the Carvela boots after trying them instore, oh the irony of ordering so many gorgeous boots when I can't wear them! Oh and I bought a new fridge freezer because mine was falling to bits! I think the next thing will have to be a car because it is starting to go wrong all of a sudden, 2 days before I had my op the battery died completely on me and now the brakes are playing up-I think its the brakes anyway as it wouldn't move when my friend started it up, then when it finally did move they 'didn't sound right', very technical eh? Bound to be £££££££££££££££'s

laid up

I had an op on my foot 10 days ago and I've been off work since then and stuck indoors as I can't drive with it bandaged up and I can't walk properly either, although thats getting easier and I've been up to the local shop and post office-whoo!
I was nearly crying with boredom until Thursday when it seemed to improve somewhat and since then I have been listing things on Ebay (now I know I can get to the post office) and sorting 'stuff' out and doing all those little household jobs I am usually too lazy or too busy to do, like cleaning the oven out! I have been online ALOT and have read a few books already, and watched all the DVD's I hadn't seen yet, but I will be so glad to go back to work. Its been one extreme to the other with work as I was so busy in December which seems an age away now and I worked so much OT that I just wanted to be off work, now I want to be back. I think I have realised how much I need to go out to work, I am not cut out to be a couch potato fulltime!

I finally bought the Carvela Scorpio boots I was raving about after they were reduced to £69, but I can only wear one atm! I also recieved the Pepe jeans in a bigger (!) size but they are another thing  can't wear as I cant get them on over my bandage!

ouch!

1/1/11

Bizarrely, I had a shift yesterday that was supposed to finish at 11pm (unheard of) but, typically I ended up working a bit late so had my entry into 2011 whilst driving home, still I got to see the fireworks and a brief glimpse into other peoples lives as they celebrated New Year. Always the same, a watcher not a participant into  any festivities!

W****a b**ts review (trying to stop spammers!)

deleted

lets pretend I posted these a week ago!

tacky posh house
mahoosive snowman
Every year I amuse myself by trying to find the most tackily decorated house and the best snowman, I think this years efforts are rather good even though I work in a 'better' area now, the posh houses didn't disappoint me and the snowman was the best I saw, he was about 8foot tall with an umbrella until someone cruelly kicked him down last week!

The Good, the Mad and the Lovely World Tour of London.

On Tuesday I went t see my music hero, Adam Ant. I haven't seen him play live for about 10 years I think, although I've seen him in other events since then. I had been ill beforehand but I soon forgot about that once he came on stage to the sound of Missy Elliot 'Get ur freak on' which is also a favourite song of mine, how did he know!? I was so close and was able to take photo after photo after photo-I won't bore anyone else with all of them but here are 3 that capture the gig for me on his 'The good, the mad and the lovely world tour of London'.
He's still got it!
Oh, and I saw the actor who plays Ron Weasley in the audience too although I forgot all about him once the show had begun-I wonder how come he likes Adam Ant??

round up

I am knackered, really knackered. I've worked so much OT just lately mainly traipsing 'round in the snow and cold and I now have a sore throat and I still have Christmas food to buy, oh stress! On the plus side I had a Brazilian Keratin treatment on my hair a couple of weeks ago and although I wasn't 100 % sure at first its been great. My hair is looking blow dried even with a quick blast with the hairdryer and even wearing a hat with my fringe pushed back doesnt make it go all kinked. It cost me £80 and I have come to the conclusion it was actually worth it, it should last about 3 months so if it does I will get it done again as it makes my hair look like a better, blowdried version of what it usually is.
